Past-client Woven Optics is an agTech startup disrupting the wool industry by developing a hand-held device for wool quality assessment. The device challenges the prevailing assessment process that is slow and expensive, requiring a sample to be sent off to the lab.As experts in optics, the client needed help proving out the quality assessment algorithm using machine learning. Inject AI worked with the customer to prototype an algorithm and show the feasibility of the approach, from development of the concept, design of the sensor and imaging setup, to collection of a labelled dataset.The method we developed was crucial in creating a prototype for the company's product.
